Jon Barney Named Avascent's Newest Partner

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Mar 13, 2012) - Leading strategy and management consulting firm Avascent has named Jon Barney as its newest Partner. Since joining the firm in 2008, Jon has worked across the breadth of the firm's assignments, helping clients craft their international strategies, leading due diligence teams on major private equity transactions, and working with senior leaders to optimize their business processes. "Jon has brought deep knowledge of our industry and a creative approach to help our clients address their most pressing business concerns," Steve added.

Prior to joining Avascent, Jon served as an Executive Director in Russell Reynolds Associates' Aviation, Aerospace and Defense Practice where he conducted C-level executive searches for aerospace and defense clients, private equity firms, infrastructure companies, systems integrators, software companies, and electronic product companies.

Previously, Jon held the position of Managing Director at Medley Global Advisors, a strategic advisory firm, and worked as the Director of Strategic Alliances at Earlier in his career, as an Associate in Booz Allen & Hamilton's strategy organization, he focused on the development of technology, financial, and pricing strategies.

After graduating with Honors from the United States Naval Academy, Jon began his career as an officer in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Presidential Military Assistant, an officer on a forward deployed destroyer, and a NATO fellow in Brussels, Belgium. Jon received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He has been published in the Harvard Business Review and has been a speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
