Journey Resources Corp. and Trio Gold Corp.: 2006 Exploration Drill Program Results on the Empire Mine Project

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 24, 2006) - Journey Resources Corp. ("Journey") (TSX VENTURE:JNY) and Trio Gold Corp. ("Trio") (TSX VENTURE:TGK)(US LISTED:TROOF) are pleased to announce initial results from the 2006 exploration program on the Empire Mine Project (the "Property").

Journey is currently earning a 50% lease interest in and to certain mineral claims comprising the Property. The Property is a poly-metallic skarn deposit containing copper, zinc, gold and silver occurrences located in the Alder Creek Mining District in Custer County, Idaho. The mine is located on the east-facing slope of the White Knob Mountains approximately three miles west of Mackay, Idaho. The Property consists of 26 patented mining claims, six mill-site claims and 21 unpatented mining claims (the "Claims").

Historical estimates obtained from a report, originally prepared by Cambior Exploration USA, Inc. in 1997 (the "Cambior Report"), used the measured mineral resource block models to scope mineable quantities of material within the known deposit. Cambior's engineering group estimated the mineable portion of the deposit as 33 million tons grading 0.44% copper, 0.20% zinc, 0.25 gpt gold, and 6.6 gpt silver at a 1:1 mining ratio. (These data are historical resource estimates under National Instrument 43-101, which have not been sufficiently verified by a qualified person to be classified as current mineral resources. Neither Journey nor Trio are treating these historical estimates as current resource estimates and therefore, these historical estimates should not be relied upon).

To date, ten holes consisting of core and RC drilling have been completed on the Empire Mine Project. In total, sixty-five holes are planned, of which forty-five holes will be infill drilling and the balance will be exploration holes. Drill results from the first three holes have been received and are summarized in the table below. These core holes were drilled in the AP pit area of the property.

All intercepts were primarily in granite porphyry endoskarn of the Mackay stock and are drill holes designed to confirm previous historical resources identified in the Cambior Report in 1997. Mark I. Pfau, PGeo, of Tellurian Exploration, Inc., and project manager stated; "these values are in-line with previous reported results, and are favorable going forward with the drill program". Drilling is ongoing and additional results are expected within the next several weeks.

Journey is investigating the potential for a SX-EW copper-zinc operation on the oxide ores present in the AP pit area, along with recovery of the precious metals. The evaluation of the deeper sulfide resource at Empire is planned in the future. Mark I. Pfau, PGeo, is the Qualified Person for Journey on the Empire Project. Sampling is supervised under rigid quality control, and ALS Chemex in Elko and Vancouver produces all assays.

The primary objective of the 2006 work program on the Empire Mine Project is to complete a feasibility study by the end of 2006. In anticipation of this, Journey has retained Anderson & Associates of Carson City, Nevada to prepare the feasibility study and Tech Base International Ltd. of Denver, Colorado to prepare the resource calculations.

Jack Bal, President of Journey, commented: "We are very pleased with the initial results of the 2006 exploration program on the Empire Mine Project and plan to continue toward our objective of completing a feasibility study in the very near future."

The management of Trio comments: "We are pleased with the progress that Journey is making in advancing this project to feasibility. The encouraging results from Journeys three initial drill assay's combined with the previously drilled 208 holes is a positive indicator that the Empire Mine Project has the potential to advance to feasibility."
