J.P.Morgan Presents Robin Hood's Fourth Annual Investors Conference

Event Raises $18 Million Since its Inception in 2013 to Fight Poverty

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - November 30, 2016) - Robin Hood, New York's largest poverty-fighting organization, held its annual Investors Conference on November 28 and 29. The event, now in its fourth year, was presented by J.P. Morgan and hosted at the new 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge -- prior to the hotel's official opening in February.

Robin Hood convened top thinkers in investing, biotech, artificial intelligence, real estate and other sectors -- including Ray Dalio, Stanley F. Druckenmiller, David Einhorn, Mary Callahan Erdoes, Jeff Immelt, Paul Tudor Jones II, and Barry S. Sternlicht -- to share investing insights and market views with the 600-person audience. The gathering has raised $18 million since its inception. Robin Hood contributes 100% of the ticket sales to the programs it supports, which include 200+ of the most effective soup kitchens, homeless shelters, schools, and job-training programs.

"We're thrilled we had the opportunity to host Robin Hood at the very first event at our soon to open 1 Hotel on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The setting was a terrific fit for the event for many reasons -- not least because Robin Hood supports many great organizations based in this borough -- from Excellence Boys School, to Brooklyn Workforce Innovations, to Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation," said Barry S. Sternlicht, founder, chairman, and CEO of Starwood Capital Group and a member of Robin Hood's Board of Directors.

The two-day conference was organized by Robin Hood Board members Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset Management; John Griffin, founder and president of Blue Ridge Capital; Daniel Loeb, founder and CEO of Third Point, and Barry S. Sternlicht, founder, chairman, and CEO of Starwood Capital Group.

"Our partnership with Robin Hood has been long lasting and highly impactful in fighting poverty throughout New York City," said Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, also a member of Robin Hood's Board of Directors. "Working with Robin Hood, over the last 20 years J.P. Morgan has trained teachers, educated children, provided critical disaster relief, helped workers learn new necessary skills, and so much more."

"J.P. Morgan launched the inaugural Robin Hood Investors Conference in 2013 and has been a true partner sponsoring the event each year since. In fact, their commitment runs much deeper as we've collaborated with them on poverty-fighting initiatives for two decades," said David Saltzman, executive director of Robin Hood.

The conference's packed agenda included "fireside chats" featuring Paul Tudor Jones II of Tudor Investment Corp., Jeff Immelt of GE, Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan Chase & Co., Lee Ainslie III of Maverick Capital, Ray Dalio of Bridgewater Associates and John A. Griffin of Blue Ridge Capital. In addition, leading experts discussed the future of biotech innovation and artificial intelligence, while Barry S. Sternlicht of Starwood Capital Group and Jonathan D. Gray of Blackstone considered the path ahead in real estate. Stephanie Ruhle, co-anchor of Weekend TODAY on NBC and an anchor at MSNBC, moderated a session about credit with Pablo Salame of Goldman Sachs and Boaz Weinstein of Saba Capital. Former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and General Ray Odierno, former U.S. Army Chief of Staff, spoke about our nation's security.
