Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong Recordings of Sophie Tucker's "Some of These Days" Theme Song Set for The Outrageous Sophie Tucker Biopic

HOLLYWOOD, CA--(Marketwire - August 31, 2010) - Recording giants Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, who recorded Sophie Tucker's "Some of These Days" theme song, will have their renditions showcased in her upcoming documentary feature, it was announced by Innovative Films Executive Producers Susan and Lloyd Ecker.

The Outrageous Sophie Tucker, currently being produced and directed by Emmy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated director, William Gazecki, highlights the amazing 60-year career of the bawdy and outrageous superstar known as 'The Last of the Red-Hot Mamas.' "What makes Sophie so interesting and appealing to me as a filmmaker," said Gazecki, "is she was an unconventional, one of a kind musical performer who used sex and the ever-changing mores of society to attract attention and entertain her audiences with songs that made them blush with laughter.

"What really works so well for the film is that Sophie constantly changed herself throughout her long, colorful, and memorable career, which made each chapter a story in itself."

"One of the things that always intrigued us about Sophie was her vitality and determination in addition to her musical talent," said the Eckers. "That made it possible for her to transition herself from burlesque to vaudeville to Broadway. And Sophie didn't stop there. She made herself a star in supper clubs around the country as well as a headliner in the entertainment capitals of New York, Miami Beach, London and of course Las Vegas.

"The Sophie we have come to know and love through more than a 100 personal interviews we conducted with Sophie Tucker peers, admirers, and fans revealed a very complicated, private, and fun-filled life. It was rife with shadowy friends, presidents and political leaders, kings and queens, gangsters, and the big spenders who followed her throughout her glorious career of more than 60 years.

"That's why we have such a great passion to tell Sophie's story, and why we believe it will make one hell of a unique, entertaining, and fascinating feature film," concluded Susan and Lloyd.
