Judy Manning Responds to Today's Cabinet Downsizing by Premier Davis

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwired - March 12, 2015) - I thank the Premier for the opportunity to have served the people of our province as the Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General. Although disappointed that my public service has come to an end for now, I look forward to serving the people of Newfoundland and Labrador again in the future. Circumstances have changed since my appointment on September 30, 2014. At that time, I anticipated the opportunity to seek the PC nomination in the district of Placentia-St. Mary's within a reasonable period of time and I looked forward to potentially serving the fine people of that district, which includes my beloved hometown of St. Bride's on the Cape Shore, as their Member of the House of Assembly. I have been privileged to work with many steadfast, dedicated people in the public service, particularly in the Department of Justice and Public Safety and in the offices of Women's Policy and Fire and Emergency Services. I have witnessed a sincere collective effort to do that which is in the best interest of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador and I have the utmost respect for those who toil in the public service, at the bureaucratic and political levels of government.
