NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 19, 2008) - Juma Technology Corp (OTCBB : JUMT ), a systems
integration firm specializing in converged communications, recently helped
St. John's University to enhance campus safety with the implementation of a
comprehensive campus-wide public address system.
St. John's University relied on Juma to design and implement the amplified
paging system throughout its Queens, Staten Island, and Manhattan, NY
campuses; an addition that further strengthens the college's capabilities
to effectively communicate with students, faculty and staff. The new
system, which consists of nearly 365 speakers campus-wide, provides the
University with the ability to broadcast audio announcements across campus
in the event of an emergency.
"By partnering with Juma to implement a public address system, we've added
yet another layer of security here at St. John's University," said Joseph
Tufano, Chief Information Officer for St. John's University. "As we know
from experience, effective communication is fundamental to ensuring the
safety of our campus community in the event of an emergency. We now have
the ability to broadcast real-time announcements to every corner of the
campus and guarantee that everyone on our premises is alerted and kept
informed instantaneously."
"The Juma team has proven to be a valued partner for us here at St. John's
University and we are now looking to expand our working relationship to
continue raising the bar on campus safety," said Tufano.
"The campus-wide paging system deployed at St. John's University has helped
to heighten the level of emergency preparedness and increase the realm of
protection on campus," said John Johnson, Juma's Director of Infrastructure
Services. "With Juma's campus safety and communications solutions, we are
helping colleges and universities utilize communications to make their
campus a safer place to live, work and learn."
Anthony Servidio, Chief Executive Officer for Juma Technology Corp,
welcomed St. John's University to the company's rapidly growing client
roster. "We are pleased to add this prestigious center of learning to our
growing client base and to provide St. John's University with an additional
level of campus security. The new paging system provides enhanced safety
to the students and faculty, and a greater level of comfort to their
families."
The campus-wide paging system utilizes the Bogen Communications amplified
paging products. The paging system was integrated with the school's
existing MIR3 mass notification text messaging system.
