For Riverside Health, this project got underway as the supply chain team determined the manual processes supporting their internal scheduling, pick-up and delivery of supplies, specimens and other packages weren't meeting their needs for control and visibility. Internal customers didn't have a way to view status of items in transit, there was no easily-accessible audit trail, and at times, recipients reported packages as lost, when they had been actually delivered but lacked an electronic method to track each delivery.
