Jun-Wei Chen Joins AnalogicTech as Vice President of Technology

Semiconductor Industry Veteran Brings Deep Expertise in Process Technology Development

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 9, 2005 -- Advanced Analogic Technologies Incorporated (AnalogicTech), a developer of innovative power management solutions, today announced the appointment of Jun-Wei Chen as Vice President of Technology. Chen's responsibilities include the development of proprietary process technologies, including device conceptualization and modeling, process development and integration, simulation, and intellectual property.

Chen reports directly to Richard K. Williams, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technical Officer of AnalogicTech. "AnalogicTech prides itself on the development of proprietary process technology," said Williams. "With decades of experience in CMOS, BiCMOS, and DMOS process technology development at some of the leading companies in our industry, Jun-Wei Chen has the senior-level expertise required to lead our dedicated technical organization."

Jun-Wei Chen is a senior-level engineering executive with experience in advanced CMOS, BiCMOS, DMOS, and high-speed Bipolar integrated circuit development, process integration, and device physics. Before joining AnalogicTech, he served as Vice President of Technology for SmartASIC Technology, where he led the development of the company's high-voltage driver ICs for plasma display panels (PDPs). Prior to his work at SmartASIC, Chen was Chief Technology Officer for CLL Technology, a maker of LCD-TFT gate driver ICs. He has also held executive-level positions at Trident Microsystems (Assistant Vice President of Operations) and OPTi (Vice President of Foundry and Product Engineering). Early in his career, Chen held technical management positions at Quality Semiconductor, Siliconix, National Semiconductor, and Trilogy Systems. He began his career as a member of the technical staff at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories.

Chen holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University.
