JUSP mPOS Earns Highest PCI Security Certification: Now Commercially Available for Sale on Website

Top Insurance Company Is First Corporate Client; Using New "Payments List" Product

FRANKFURT, GERMANY--(Marketwired - Jun 25, 2014) -  mPOS World -- JUSP, the all-in-one, chip-and-pin mPOS (Mobile Point-of-Sale) solution for smartphones, tablets and PCs, announced that its mPOS solution is now commercially available for sale, having received the most stringent security level certifications for mobile point of sale devices: EMV level 1 and 2,PCI PTS 3.1 SRED*. JUSP is just one of a handful of companies worldwide that has achieved the full range of certifications.

Starting now, JUSP will sell its mPOS device through its website, beginning with customers in Italy and rolling out to Europe and the US later for main street retailers and large corporations, as well as micro merchants. JUSP is also announcing its first corporate client -- one of the largest insurance companies worldwide. Following a pilot program, JUSP will provide its mPOS solution to more than 3,000 agents in Italy. Several other large clients are in the pipeline. US expansion of the JUSP solution is planned for 2015 when EMV transition is mandated to take place.

New "Payments List" Product

JUSP's new product feature "Payments List" will be used first by its insurance client. Payments List enables any company to use its browser application to prepare in advance a list of payment packages for merchandise or insurance policies. Once in the field, sales teams can view the payments linked to insurance policies or products on the JUSP smartphone or tablet app. There is no need for the sales people to lug around a heavy laptop to close payments or rely on inconsistent Internet connectivity. Payments are made on regular smart phones and JUSP makes sure payment is safe, reliable and quick.

"Payments List benefits large retailers and corporate customers that have an existing Windows-based infrastructure in place. JUSP's payment technology seamlessly integrates all the elements needed for automatic payment reconciliation; there's no need for reconfiguring the system or recoding the browser solution or app," said Giuseppe Saponaro, COO, JUSP. "Our mPOS solution works very easily with existing corporate systems, saving huge administrative overheads for a corporation."

Payments List was designed first for use in the insurance world, but will work just as well in the delivery industry or for any corporation that has to integrate mPOS devices with existing backend systems.

Also being announced today:

  • Stefano Calderano, CEO, JUSP is speaking at the mPOS World Conference June 24, 2014 in Frankfurt, Germany. JUSP sees the mPOS market growing beyond the micro and small merchant to include main street retailers and corporations with a large salesforce in the field. Mr. Calderano will address this shift in the industry and discuss what opportunities are opening up for the entire value chain, as well as how to securely integrate mPOS into the larger retail environment.
  • JUSP has also been named to the short list of finalists of the Mobile Innovations Award in the best mobile POS category.

Editor Information:

*EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) certification is issued by a company called EMVco, which is a consortium between all card schemes (founded by MasterCard and Visa, now includes Amex, Discover, and other cards). PCI, the Payment Council Institute, enhances payment account data security. PTS, the PIN Transaction System, is the certification specifically for chip-and-pin devices (traditional and mobile). SRED stands for secure reading and exchange of data. The SRED module ensures that cardholder account data is protected at the point of acceptance, which assists with meeting the required security considerations of the wider point-to-point encryption process.
