Hitachi to Develop and Deliver Kabira-Powered Offerings to Japanese Telecommunications and Other Enterprise Accounts

BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwire - February 15, 2009) - Today at the Mobile World Congress 2009, Kabira Technologies, Inc. announced a major OEM agreement with Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT) (TSE: 6501) that greatly expands the two companies' established relationship and enables Hitachi to create new applications based on Kabira's Transaction Platform™ technology. This agreement provides a means by which Hitachi can create new network connected, memory-resident transactional applications for Japanese telecommunications and other enterprise accounts.

Hitachi and Kabira® are also extending their current multi-year reselling partnership, which has led to significant customer wins in Japan. The OEM agreement enables the two organizations to collaborate closely on new products, establishes close senior management relationships, and provides Hitachi with the ability to incorporate Kabira products or technologies into any of their new offerings within the country of Japan.

"For several years Kabira has worked with Hitachi to develop and implement market leading transactional platform technology and applications," said Chris Clabaugh, vice president of business development for Kabira. "This expanded relationship will enable both organizations to closely collaborate and deliver entirely new classes of memory-resident, network connected applications to enterprise accounts in Japan, in such areas as NGN and IMS networks, service-aware charging, and low-latency financial applications."

"The OEM Agreement strengthens our relationship with Kabira, of which I am very excited to see," said Yasushi Nomura, Vice-Division Manager of Hitachi Network Solution Division. "By actively using the advanced transaction platform provided by Kabira, we are able to implement highly-available, high volume transaction processing applications. This will provide optimized solution services to our telecommunication customers."

Today Hitachi develops, delivers, and supports numerous applications based on Kabira's technologies for a number of enterprise accounts within Japan. Prospective customers are invited to contact Kabira's Tokyo office at +81-3-6860-8310 for further information.
