Kaiser Permanente Southern California President Dr. Benjamin Chu on Implementing Health Care Reform

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 9, 2010) - "Transforming Health, Making Reform Real," is the keynote address that Dr. Benjamin K. Chu, MD, MPH, MACP, president of Kaiser Permanente's Southern California Region, will deliver to TOWN HALL Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.

"Let's focus on what needs to be done to improve our nation's health," says Dr. Chu. "It's time to support a culture that aims to promote good health and prevent illness."

"Kaiser Permanente's quality medical care for our members and patients is coordinated by an expert team and supported by information technology," notes Chu adding, "and because we are committed to the ideal of total health for everyone, we also partner with local organizations, sharing our knowledge and expertise, and funding innovative programs designed to build healthier communities."

Dr. Chu was appointed regional president of Kaiser Permanente Southern California in February 2005. He directs Health Plan and Hospital operations for 13 hospitals and 145 medical offices from Bakersfield to San Diego that serve over 3.3 million members.
