Kansas City Dentist Provides At-Home Sleep Study for Sleep Apnea Patients

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwired - March 29, 2015) - Dr. Robert Klein, a trusted Kansas City and Liberty cosmetic dentist, is now offering at-home sleep studies for sleep apnea patients.

The at-home sleep test results, combined with the patented palatal snoring analysis, allows Dr. Klein to analyze a patient's snoring and determine the appropriate treatment.

Sleep apnea is caused by an obstructed airway, and the dangerous disorder can increase the risk of diabetes, obesity, heart failure, stroke and high blood pressure if left untreated.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea are the two main types of sleep apnea, with Obstructive Sleep Apnea being the most common. It's common for sleep apnea patients to experience constant fatigue, anxiety, depression and lack of concentration. These side effects can lead to serious problems at work or in the patient's personal life.

Dr. Klein, owner of Highland Dental Clinic, said sleep apnea patients appreciate being able to complete their study from their own bed instead of inside a laboratory.

"With the at-home sleep study, we feel as though we're getting even better results because the patient is in the comfort of their own home," said the Kansas City dentist. "We're also finding that patients are more likely to complete a home-sleep study vs. having to go to an unfamiliar place for an entire night."
