Kansas Greyhound Farm, Kennels Offered at Auction

ABILENE, KS--(Marketwire - May 10, 2011) - Greymeadow Kennels and Farm, an 83.4-acre facility that has been widely recognized among greyhound enthusiasts, will sell at auction Tuesday, June 14, with McCurdy Auction marketing the property and conducting the sale.

"We're privileged to be marketing an exceptional facility that is a proven location for producing quality greyhounds. In addition to greyhounds, the property is suitable for use in raising and caring for horses, goats, alpacas and, of course, virtually any breed of dog," said Braden McCurdy, associate broker for the auction company. "It would also lend itself to a variety of other purposes, such as a veterinary clinic for large and small animals."

The property also has a 3,263-square-foot residence with two stories, hardwood floors, formal dining, a wood stove, fireplace and two-car garage. There is also a caretaker's home.

The farm has a capacity for 350 dogs, with facilities that include two metal buildings, 20 80-foot runs, two metal pup buildings and other outbuildings. There are approximately 53 acres of hay meadow.

"While Greymeadow is no longer operating as a greyhound farm per se, there are still various tenants boarding approximately 100 dogs on the property, so this will provide immediate income to the new owner," said McCurdy.

The auction will begin at 7 p.m., June 14, at the property. Individuals seeking additional information may call the company at 316-683-0612 or visit
