Kantar Health Thought Leaders to Present at Bio/Pharmaceutical Conference on New Product Forecasting

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - Kantar Health, a leading healthcare-focused global consultancy and marketing insights company, today announced that Gordon Gochenauer, Director, Clinical and Scientific Assessment, and Kevin Norell, Senior Vice President, Advanced Applications and Market Modeling, will present at the Bio/Pharmaceutical Conference on New Product Forecasting. The conference will take place May 24-25, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton, New Jersey.

The presentation, "Oncology Forecasting Trends in the Chinese Market," will examine China's oncology market, looking at patient populations relative to other geographies. An overview of the healthcare system in China will be provided, specifically looking at trends in rural and urban populations and the differences in access to the latest targeted therapies. Finally, the presentation will provide a reconciliation of sales for a leading cancer product, illustrating some of the challenges of expanding drug sales in this rapidly developing country.

"Attracted by a population of 1.3 billion people, economic growth rates far exceeding those of most developed countries and government initiatives to provide healthcare to the vast majority of its citizens in the near future, pharmaceutical companies are moving aggressively into China in search of growth opportunities that are proving elusive in developed markets," Mr. Gochenauer says. "With a large percentage of the pharmaceutical industry product pipeline directed at oncology, this is a prime area of interest."

Mr. Gochenauer is co-leader of the team responsible for developing and supporting CancerMPact® with primary responsibility for the Emerging Technologies, Treatment Architecture Japan, Treatment Evolution Japan and Treatment Architecture China modules. Previously, Mr. Gochenauer was the leader of research into the current and future treatment paradigms in the U.S. cancer market.

In his role heading the Advanced Applications and Market Modeling group, Mr. Norell is the lead architect and development director for Kantar Health's Forecast Architect® pharmaceutical market forecasting software. This group is also responsible for the creation of custom market models, patient-flow epidemiology models in complex areas such as oncology and hepatitis C, and custom forecasting platforms for Kantar Health's client companies.

The presentation, "Oncology Forecasting Trends in the Chinese Market," will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 24. Kantar Health is a sponsor of the Bio/Pharmaceutical Conference on New Product Forecasting. For more information, please visit the conference's website.
