Kantar Health Thought Leaders to Speak at Pharma Forecasting Excellence USA

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 23, 2010) - Kantar Health, a leading healthcare-focused global consultancy and marketing insights company, today announced that two of its thought leaders will be presenting at eyeforpharma's Pharma Forecasting Excellence USA conference October 5-6, 2010, at the Hilton Back Bay Hotel in Boston.

Robert B. Ramsey, Ph.D., Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, and Todd Johnson, Senior Director of Forecasting, will present "Biomarker Involvement in Forecasting a New Oncology Product" on Tuesday, October 5. The presentation will address how the potential role of biomarkers needs to be considered in the development of an oncology product forecast:

  • How does a biomarker define how/where your drug may be used?
  • How might other biomarkers not related to your drug affect your forecast?
  • What impact might biomarkers have on dosing and duration of treatment assumptions?
  • Ultimately, how could the expanding role of biomarkers affect your potential product selection and business development decisions?

Dr. Ramsey's career spans over 30 years in academia, product management, marketing, business development, and strategic planning. Dr. Ramsey has completed numerous projects for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in all therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, CNS, anti-infective, and oncology. Dr. Ramsey earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and an M.B.A. in International Business from Saint Louis University, and he has postdoctoral training in Neuroscience at the University of London, England. In addition, Dr. Ramsey serves on the Institutional Review Boards of Washington University Medical Center and St. Louis University Medical Center.

Mr. Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has led the Forecasting practice at Kantar Health for the last four years. He previously held increasingly responsible positions at sanofi-aventis in marketing research, forecasting, managed care, product management, and sales leadership. Mr. Johnson has a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Arizona.
