Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP (Kaplan Fox) Partners Recognized as Leading Plaintiffs' Attorneys

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 13, 2010) - Robert N. Kaplan and Gregory K Arenson of Kaplan Fox have been recognized as two of America's most formidable trial lawyers, according to a study released last week by Mark Behrens and Carl Silverman of Shook Hardy & Bacon LLP.

Behrens and Silverman surveyed defense counsel, in-house attorneys and individuals involved in the civil justice reform movement and compiled a list of the best 75 plaintiffs' lawyers based on their expertise and influence. The list was released to The Am Law Litigation Daily and published on its website. Click here for listing.

Behrens, who authored the list, is on sabbatical from Shook Hardy & Bacon, a firm best known for its defense work in the tobacco arena. Currently teaching at Pepperdine School of Law, he decided to compile the list because many of the big names associated with the plaintiffs' bar are no longer practicing.

The survey included diverse practice areas and recognized a limited number of attorneys practicing antitrust and securities litigation, including Messrs. Kaplan and Arenson.

This adds to the recognition Messrs. Kaplan and Arenson have received across the course of their long and distinguished careers. Over his more than 30-year career, Mr. Kaplan has been widely recognized as a leading securities and antitrust litigator, who has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for institutional investors and public pension funds in the prosecution of numerous fraud actions and for businesses in antitrust cases. Mr. Arenson is a seasoned business litigator with experience representing clients in a variety of areas, including antitrust.

Kaplan Fox is pleased to have two partners represented on the list, showcasing our continued work and experience as the law continues to evolve in these highly specialized practice areas. Currently prosecuting leading securities and antitrust cases, we maintain both knowledge and up-to-date expertise in these practice areas.
