KARE 11 Wins Prestigious Station of the Year Award From the National Press Photographers Association

It's the Seventh Time KARE Brings Home the National Title

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - March 4, 2010) -  The photojournalism staff at KARE 11 News was awarded the NPPA's Station of the Year award by a team of judges at the Poynter Institute today.

The judges' comments on KARE 11's work included:

  • "The KARE tape was the clear winner..."

  • "I laughed and cried and admired the wonderful humanity that shone through on every story on this tape."

  • "KARE's entry was an effort by [a] significant segment of the staff. The entry had several very high end and memorable stories."

The station was judged on a variety of categories including Spot News, Feature, Sports and Solo Video Journalist. It's KARE's seventh Station of the Year recognition by the NPPA over the past 25 years.
