Kari Bellville and Geandra Almeida Receive Sponsor Exemptions for the Four Winds Invitational

Tournament Will Be Held From Friday, June 21 - Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Blackthorn Golf Club


SOUTH BEND, IN--(Marketwired - May 21, 2013) - The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, owners of Four Winds Casinos®, the premier gaming destinations in the Midwest, are pleased to announce that Kari Bellville and Geandra Almeida have received sponsor exemptions to play in the 2013 Four Winds Invitational. A sponsor exemption allows tournament organizers the opportunity to select players to compete against some of the top professional women golfers in the world. The Four Winds Invitational will be held from Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Blackthorn Golf Club, located at 6100 Nimtz Parkway, South Bend, Ind. The tournament features a field of professional women golfers from around the world competing for the largest purse on the Symetra Tour -- Road to the LPGA.

Kari Bellville is a senior at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Ind. and has verbally committed to attend the University of Notre Dame. Kari was also granted a sponsor's exemption for the inaugural Four Winds Invitational in 2012, missing the cut by two strokes. She has won a Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) All-American award every year since 2010 and was named a player of the year by the FCWT in 2010. Kari also participated in the 2010 Women's Western Amateur Championship Flight Match Play and in 2011 she was the North and South Junior Champion.

Geandra Almeida is a native of Brazil who was ranked as the number one amateur in Brazil upon enrollment at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. in 2010. In 2011, Geandra led the Lee University women's golf team to their first ever appearance in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Golf National Championships and was named an NAIA All-American. In 2012, she transferred to Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind. and led them to a nation's best nine tournament victories.

The Four Winds Invitational was established in 2012 as part of the Symetra® Tour -- Road to the LPGA, and is sponsored by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casinos®. It is held at Blackthorn Golf Club, located at 6100 Nimtz Parkway, South Bend, Ind. The tournament features a field of professional women golfers from around the world competing for a total prize of $150,000, making it the largest purse on the Symetra Tour.
