Kaspersky Lab Introduces Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007

WOBURN, MA--(Marketwire - March 5, 2008) - Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of Internet threat management solutions that protect against all forms of malicious software, today announced the release of Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 protects users of corporate mail systems from viruses, spyware and other malware working in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, the latest version of the popular messaging and collaborative software product from Microsoft.

Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 scans all email attachments and attributes and, depending on the specified settings, the application disinfects, deletes or sends an alert along with malicious objects. Moreover, scans are performed in the background and have little effect on the mail server's performance. In order to prevent data loss, Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 saves copies of message modifications in a backup storage, which allows important information to be restored in the event of loss during treatment of an infected object.

"Mail is a major channel for the distribution of malicious software. One targeted attack can reap significant losses to an organization and the various elements of the ecosystem in which it operates," said Jeff Aliber, senior director of product marketing, Kaspersky Lab. "Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 provides robust scanning of incoming and outgoing messages and mail stored on the server, as well as objects in common folders, using our award-winning anti-malware technology from our world-renowned Lab."

The application is configured and administered via the administration console built into Microsoft Management Console (MMC), a convenient management tool familiar to the administrator. This significantly reduces the time it takes a company's IT personnel to adapt to the new product, as well as simplifying the administration process of anti-malware protection as a whole. The interactive installation and configuration mode the solution uses by default is appropriate for most systems, making it possible to begin normal operation of the program without spending much time on installation and configuration. The selection of available options enables the administrator to configure the application to suit the volume and character of traffic, as well as the hardware environment.

Specific functionality includes:

--  Real-time scanning of email messages;
--  On-demand and on schedule background scanning;
--  Detection of potentially hostile programs;
--  Virus outbreak prevention;
--  Backup copying;
--  Centralized administration;
--  Detailed reports; and
--  Database updates.
