Katcon, Leading Supplier of Automotive Parts, Selects Daptiv PPM to Manage Engineering Process and Reduce Costs
Automotive Industry Parts Purveyor Implements Collaboration Software to Provide Business Level Insight Into Product Development

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2009) - Daptiv, the on-demand leader in collaborative business software,
announced that Katcon, a Mexico-based supplier to the automotive industry,
has implemented Daptiv PPM to provide insight into the engineering
department's activity and manage its output. The SaaS-based software will
continue to help the manufacturer of automotive parts track and predict the
productivity of individual engineers to optimize performance.
Katcon, a subsidiary of Bienes Turgon, has been a supplier of the
automotive industry since 1993, producing catalytic converters, formed/bent
pipes, mufflers, hot and cold end modules and complete exhaust systems.
Prior to implementing Daptiv PPM, Katcon lacked insight into individual
workloads and time spent on tasks and projects. Since implementing Daptiv,
Katcon has increased this visibility 100 percent and gained crucial insight
into where they should allocate resources to aggressively reduce costs
while also increasing productivity and ensuring that the department is
focused on the right strategic initiatives.
"Daptiv has revolutionized the way we assign projects and manage the
engineering department," said Miguel Amado, engineering manager at Katcon.
"This department is central to our business -- we need to ensure that we
place resources where they're best needed so that we're responding to
customer needs and produce top quality auto parts. Before Daptiv we had
zero insight into the department's workflow from a business perspective --
we're now able to best manage this process to optimize our resources and
cut costs. Daptiv has also dramatically improved our ability to collaborate
across our international offices in Mexico, Luxembourg and Michigan."
Katcon's engineers currently use Daptiv PPM to carry out product development projects; the
software gives them the ability to predict the following week's workflow
based on new insights and prioritize new projects as they emerge. Daptiv
PPM has also provided executive insight into the business value of the
engineering department and has empowered collaboration between different
global offices with the
on-demand software.
