KCG Successfully Completes Government FedRAMP JAB Provisional Authorization for Economic Systems Inc.

3PAO Secures Joint Authorization Board Provisional Authority to Operate for Software as a Service Offering

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - May 12, 2014) - Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), one of the largest privately held cybersecurity services firms in the United States, today announced that it successfully completed a comprehensive cloud assessment for Economic Systems Inc. (EconSys) as a Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO). KCG's support as a 3PAO resulted in a Provisional Authority to Operate (P-ATO) by the Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program (FedRAMP) Joint Authorization Board (JAB) for the EconSys Software as a Service (SaaS) offering.

"EconSys is well established in the government market, supporting well over 100 agencies, including the Departments of Homeland Security, Agriculture, Labor and Housing and Urban Development," said George Kettner, President, EconSys. "By securing this FedRAMP JAB authorization, we are able to continue servicing our client base as well as position the company for additional growth. KCG served as a great partner to make the review process as smooth as possible."

KCG secured a P-ATO for the EconSys Federal Human Resources (FHR) Navigator application. FHR Navigator is an enterprise HR processing system that supports and automates the most critical federal human resources functions. Position management and classification, recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and retirement processing are integrated in a single application, streamlining HR processes while fully supporting human capital initiatives.

"KCG's expertise in the authorization process enables us to work cooperatively with the FedRAMP program office and our clients to achieve the goals established by the Office of Management and Budget," said Matt Mitchell, Director, Risk Advisory Services, KCG. "We congratulate EconSys for achieving this authorization."

FedRAMP provides a standard approach to security in the federal cloud environment, enabling Cloud Service Providers (CSP) to be approved once for government-wide use. The program, which requires a 3PAO to conduct a detailed, independent assessment evaluating and documenting a CSP's information systems, ensures that all security requirements adhere to FedRAMP standards. Once a solution earns authorization, it must participate in ongoing assessments and authorizations through continuous monitoring.

"The FHR Navigator SaaS solution offers a unique approach, in that it represents a single enclave which supports multiple government customers," said Elizabeth Storley, KCG's Lead FedRAMP Assessor. "The environment definitely added a level of complexity to the process, but EconSys and KCG were able to successfully meet all requirements necessary to obtain the P-ATO."
