CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - October 10, 2016) - kCura, developers of the e-discovery software Relativity, today announced that their SaaS product, RelativityOne, will work in unison with their existing on-premises e-discovery product -- creating a hybrid solution that can connect to other instances of the software and empower legal teams and vendors to collaborate better, spend more time on strategy, and speed up the overall e-discovery process. kCura also announced a new integration between Microsoft Office 365 and Relativity, including the Azure-based RelativityOne, keeping customers close to their data and within the same cloud.
kCura CEO Andrew Sieja shared his vision for an easier and faster e-discovery experience as he provided an in-depth look at RelativityOne to more than 1,800 attendees at Relativity Fest, the annual conference for legal technology professionals.
"We want to simplify and accelerate how the world conducts e-discovery by bringing the entire process and community closer together," said Sieja. "To us, this means continuing to build an open and flexible platform that connects a customer's on-premises instance with the cloud, makes it easy to exchange data with other Relativity customers, and plugs into a community of partners and developers than can make the software do whatever you need it to."
Relativity is used by 198 of the 200 largest law firms in the U.S., 73 of the Fortune 100, and government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice, to manage electronic evidence in litigation, investigations, and beyond. The platform is highly extensible, with a network of developer partners that build customized applications and solutions on it to solve a wide variety of structured and unstructured data challenges.
kCura's announcement of an integration with Office 365 further supports their vision of an open and flexible platform. The integration connects Relativity directly to the most universal cloud-based productivity suite for the enterprise, bringing customers even closer to their data and allowing users to quickly and securely move items like emails and documents into RelativityOne or on-premises instances of the software, with no additional tools required.
Other updates to Relativity and RelativityOne will allow legal teams to share and manage case data in a faster, more secure, and more cost-effective way.
- A user can securely connect all of their organization's Relativity instances under a single sign-on for accessing their cases in both Relativity and RelativityOne.
- Customers can skip cumbersome steps like creating and shipping portable hard drives for case data, and instead move cases around with a high-speed data transfer seamlessly from on-premises to cloud instances of RelativityOne, including across geographies.
- A host of new features -- such as deeper email analytics, updates to the UI framework, and enhancements to the Relativity Integration Points application, among others -- will be available both in Relativity and RelativityOne, ensuring a consistent experience no matter how a customer is accessing the software.
RelativityOne is now available in a soft launch period, with customers currently using the software. RelativityOne brings a single e-discovery platform from legal hold through case construction directly to the cloud, providing benefits like the continuous integration of new features, high availability, and the elimination of upgrade and infrastructure headaches. It will be offered as a standalone SaaS solution or in tandem with an on-premises installation of Relativity.
