KDDI America Expands New York Metro Network to TELEHOUSE NEW YORK Chelsea

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - February 14, 2011) - KDDI America Inc., the U.S. division of KDDI CORPORATION, a Global Fortune 500 company and worldwide leader in international telecommunications services, today announced that it has extended KDDI America MetroWave, its flexible and affordable, high-performance network services covering major carrier hotels in the New York metropolitan area to the new TELEHOUSE NEW YORK Chelsea data center in Manhattan.

KDDI America's MetroWave, the metro wavelength network, originally launched in June of 2010, already connects four major telecommunication centers in New York -- 111 8th Avenue, 60 Hudson Street and its own global brand data centers, "TELEHOUSE NEW YORK Broadway" and "TELEHOUSE NEW YORK Teleport," located at 25 Broadway in Manhattan and 7 Teleport Drive in Staten Island. With TELEHOUSE's recent announcement of a new facility, TELEHOUSE NEW YORK Chelsea, at 85 10th Avenue in Manhattan, KDDI America has taken the opportunity to extend its network into this new major communication hub. The expansion of network in New York metro area increases KDDI America reach thousands of business customers' demand while maintaining a lower cost.

The latest addition to MetroWave emphasizes KDDI America's commitment to continue to expand its network service throughout major metropolitan areas within the United States with Points of Presence now in New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Chicago, IL; Ashburn, VA and Dallas, TX. By employing dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) technology, SDH/SONET and Ethernet transport services are available from DS3 (45Mbps) up to OC192 (10Gbps) with seamless connectivity available to KDDI's extensive international backbone.
