Keiretsu Forum Angel Investors and Naxuri Capital Successfully Launch "Ahead of the Fashion" Technology and Fashion Accelerator

Keiretsu Forum Angel Investors Spread Their Wings Toward Fashion

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 26, 2012) - Keiretsu Forum, the world's largest angel investment network, and Naxuri Capital, an investment firm, successfully launched "Ahead of the Fashion" at a sold-out event with 280 angel investors, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, models, photographers, bloggers, and fashionistas on Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 at The City Club in San Francisco, California.

Ahead of the Fashion is an accelerating growth program for early stage technology ventures in the consumer, retail, and fashion industries. It aims to create an environment that allows a new generation of upcoming and promising technology and fashion start-ups and designers to grow and thrive, as well as to transform San Francisco as the Fashion Technology Capital of the World.

"Keiretsu Forum is our core focus over the past twelve years. We are always innovating and launching new projects in order to bring unique high-quality diverse deal flow to our Keiretsu Forum members," said Randy Williams, Founder & CEO of Keiretsu Forum. "The fantastic response we received from the members, attendees, and the presenters is a testament to the untapped opportunities at the intersection of technology and fashion."

The Honorable Willie Brown opened the event with a speech of marrying fashion with technology, and a call for cultivating the enormous talents and entrepreneurial landscape in San Francisco to bring more jobs into the City. Six startups: Oh! Shoes, Clikthrough, Fitiquette, Jolie Chic, ASTONISH, and Luxe Collective presented to a panel of Keiretsu Forum angel investor members and industry experts. The event featured fashion shows with three fashion designers: LALY Designs, BlacMéra, and Prima Jiva. After each company presentation, the panelists voted and Keiretsu Forum Founder & CEO Randy Williams awarded BlacMéra as the winner of the inaugural event presentations.

"Ahead of the Fashion fills the void of start-up infrastructure support for tech/fashion entrepreneurs, not only in the Bay Area, but also nationwide," said Yuliana Candra, Founder, CEO, and Designer of BlacMéra. "Although I have accomplished a lot in the last 18 months, Ahead of the Fashion just opened a floodgate of resources for me. I hope this illustrates enough of its importance to entrepreneurs and designers like me to apply for the program."

"We focus on building great companies with entrepreneurs that are excited about the new fashion and retail landscape," said Enrico Beltramini, Co-founder of Ahead of the Fashion and Managing Director of Naxuri Capital, a new investment firm based in Palo Alto. "We invest in early stage, capital-efficient companies that provide technology and embedded technology in the fashion and retail industries."

The next Ahead of the Fashion event will be held on March 6th, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in San Francisco, California. On-line registration is available on EventBrite. Early stage technology start-ups in the consumer, fashion, and retail space, as well as fashion designers that plan to incorporate technology in their fabric and style, are invited to apply to the Ahead of the Fashion accelerator program and present at the monthly event. There is no fee to present. On-line applications can be submitted via the Ahead of the Fashion website at
