Keiretsu Forum Announces Palm Springs Angel Capital Expo

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - December 13, 2007) - Keiretsu Forum, the world's largest angel investment community, will hold its next Angel Capital Expo, which is organized in collaboration with Coachella Valley Angel Network (CVAN), on Monday, January 28 from 7:30am to 4:30pm at the University of California Riverside (UCR) campus in Palm Desert, CA.

Angel Capital Expo is a premier gathering of angel investors and entrepreneurs seeking funding capital to grow their businesses. More than 200 active and respected angel investors from California and across the United States will attend the event on January 28.

"Angel Capital Expo provides a unique opportunity for open access and collective collaboration to the world of angel investing," said Randy Williams, CEO and founder of Keiretsu Forum. "We are proud to play a seminal role in the growth of start-up businesses at a local and national level."

Guest Speakers at the Expo will be: Professor Robert Wiltbank of Willamette University, one of the authors of a study conducted this year reporting that the average angel investing group rate of return is higher than the average VC rate of return; Professor Donald Siegel, presenting the UCR Alternative Energy Center Project; Richard Heckmann, an expert in buyout and rollup investment concepts; and Chris Shipley, the Executive Producer of the DEMO Conferences and Chairman of the market intelligence firm Guidewire Group, Inc., who meets each year with over 500 companies as they are developing and bringing new products to market.

"We have an emerging diversified economy here in the Coachella Valley and now with the various initiatives at University of California, Riverside Palm Desert, we have built a solid base for creating and operating high-tech, alternative energy and other new businesses," said Steve Weiss, CEO and founder of Coachella Valley Angel Network.

Angel Capital Expo will feature twelve presentations from early stage companies in technology, life sciences, consumer products, real estate, financial services, social ventures and other segments with high growth potential. All presenters will be pre-screened by a select committee of angel investors. Each entrepreneur will make a 15-minute presentation and will be available for additional discussion and due diligence at their executive booth throughout the day. Following the presentations, the attendees will vote and award the top three presenting companies the "Most Valued Company" award.

"Angel Capital Expo surpassed our expectations and provided us with unprecedented access to hundreds of investors in our target range all at once. It would have taken months of travel and tens of thousands of dollars to meet with that many high-quality investors individually. There's nothing else like it in the country or even in the world," said Victor Kucek, CEO of TIXEM, Inc., one of the "Most Valued Company" award winners at the Silicon Valley Angel Capital Expo, which took place in Mountain View in November. "In addition to connecting with sources of capital, the connections, referrals, and support offered by the Keiretsu Forum community were especially helpful. Many of the Keiretsu Forum members are former entrepreneurs themselves, and they freely offer their wisdom about what it takes to build a successful business from the ground up."
