Keiretsu Forum Invests $300k in San Francisco-Based Verican

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - November 9, 2007) - Keiretsu Forum, the world's largest angel investment community, announces its members' investment in Verican, a San Francisco-based media company that generates internet traffic by syndicating content throughout its network of established local media.

Verican closed its seed round after raising $350,000. Keiretsu Forum members from the San Francisco and East Bay chapters staked the round with $300,000 in angel funding, which will enable Verican to expand upon their sales and marketing efforts.

"Keiretsu Forum provides an extremely efficient and effective way for entrepreneurs like me to raise the capital needed to grow a business. In just three days of presentations, I was able to introduce my company to over 300 accredited investors," said Verican CEO and Founder Eric Buskirk. "However, it is not just the financial capital, but the opportunity to access and tap into the extensive networks within Keiretsu Forum that is equally essential to our company's success."

Keiretsu Forum provides a structured approach to private equity investments, allowing like-minded business leaders to work together and assess investment opportunities and then make individual investment decisions.

"This was my first investment as a Keiretsu Forum member, and I cannot say enough about the merits of Keiretsu Forum's collaborative approach to early-stage investing," said Susan Blew, a Keiretsu Forum member and the former Chief Technology Officer of Wells Fargo. "Each member brought a different level of expertise to the table, which greatly contributed the success and effectiveness of the due diligence process."
