Ken MacLeod Honoured With TEC Canada Chair Excellence Award

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 20, 2010) - Ken MacLeod, First Vice President of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, was honoured this month with a Chair Excellence Award from TEC Canada. With a proven track record of success and nearly 30 years of experience, TEC Canada is committed to developing outstanding twenty-first century business leaders across the country.

Since becoming a TEC Canada Chair in 2007, Ken has shown great dedication in building his two TEC groups, TEC 252 and KEY 552, which are comprised of chief executives, presidents, entrepreneurs and other business leaders from the Okanagan region who meet monthly to discuss issues relevant to business growth and executive development.

The Chair Excellence Award is presented to a TEC Canada Chair who provides exceptional value to the organization and its members based on personal vision of innovation, collaboration and empowerment in business. Practical criteria such as maintaining healthy group sizes, candidate referrals and member growth are also factors.

"Ken was chosen as a recipient for our 2010 TEC Chair Excellence Award because he understands the essence of being a TEC Chair," says Catherine Robertson, Executive Vice President of TEC Canada.

"With a great capacity for creating successful paths to growth and profitability, Ken exudes a motivation and enthusiasm that is unique," notes Catherine. "He understands how to inspire chief executives to reach their personal and corporate goals, as demonstrated by the success of his members. In just three years as a Chair, Ken has shown a remarkable amount of success within his groups and as a leader for TEC Canada. His accomplishments are commendable and we are proud to have him as a representative of our organization."

Ken also acts as president of The MacGroup of Companies, a growing and successful consulting practice focused on professional development, leadership coaching, strategic success planning and brand positioning. With a professional career that spans three decades, Ken has worked with numerous leading corporations where his business acumen and leadership capabilities have been consistently acknowledged by the Canadian business community. Also in 2004, Ken was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young.
