Kenneth Novack to Join Leerink Swann Board of Directors

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 13, 2007) - Leerink Swann announced today that Kenneth Novack has agreed to join its Board of Directors.

Mr. Novack was Vice Chairman of Time Warner until his retirement at the end of 2003. He joined America Online as Vice Chairman in 1998. He was the lead negotiator for AOL in its historic merger with Time Warner in 2001. In addition, Mr. Novack directed AOL's legal department and venture investments. Following the merger, he became Vice Chairman of AOL Time Warner, where he served as a strategic advisor to the Chairman and played a lead role in numerous corporate transactions.

Prior to joining AOL, Mr. Novack was a senior partner at the law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo where he practiced for 32 years. He served on the firm's Executive Committee from 1972 to 1998. As a corporate and securities attorney, Mr. Novack counseled entrepreneurs, venture capital firms, investment bankers, and numerous life sciences companies. His practice focused on venture capital, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. He currently serves as Senior Counsel to Mintz Levin.

In addition to continuing as a director of Time Warner, Mr. Novack serves on the boards of Paratek Pharmaceuticals, Prematics, BBN Technologies and Appleton Partners, and is an advisory director of Gordon Brothers Group. He is also a special advisor to General Catalyst, a venture capital firm, where he is actively involved in the firm's investment process.

Mr. Novack's extensive community contributions include his role as Vice Chairman of Tufts-New England Medical Center. He is also a director of the Novack Family Foundation and a member of the Board of Overseers of the Anti-Defamation League of New England. Mr. Novack recently retired as Vice Chairman of Combined Jewish Philanthropies and Vice Chairman of Boston's Museum of Science. He is also a former director of Facing History and Ourselves.

Mr. Novack is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School.
