Kent Exploration Inc.: Ivanhoe Creek Reclamation Bond Posted

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 17, 2006) - Kent Exploration Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:KEX) has been notified by Senator Minerals Inc., the operator of the planned drilling program on the Ivanhoe Creek property in which the Company holds a 50% lease option interest, that the drill program reclamation bond has been posted with the United States Bureau of Land Management.

The 13 hole, 9,000 foot Ivanhoe Creek drilling program, funded by the Company, is planned to test two identified fault structures to depth for Midas-style mineralization.

The Midas-style exploration property is located directly to the north of Hecla-Great Basin Gold's Hollister deposit where Great Basin Gold reports anticipated low cost production is expected to commence from a resource of 1 million gold equivalent ounces in 2008 at a grade of 1.3 gold equivalent oz (42g/ton) per ton.

Kent Exploration Inc. is a junior exploration company that has earned a 50% interest in the Ivanhoe Creek property, a Midas-style target in Nevada's Carlin Trend, and is earning a 100% interest in the Rosebud property, a gold/silver prospect in northern Arizona.
