Kevin Kreeger, Ph.D., Joins Fovia as VP of Engineering

Fovia Attracts Industry Veteran to Expand F.A.S.T.(TM) HDVR(R) Development

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 10, 2015) - Fovia, Inc., a global leader in volume rendering technology, today announced that Kevin Kreeger, Ph.D., who has a 30+ year track record of developing and delivering successful imaging and visualization solutions for the medical and defense markets, has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering.

Dr. Kreeger was most recently Director of Advanced Development at Hologic, Inc., where he managed a team of Ph.D.'s that developed computer-aided detection (CAD) algorithms, including algorithms for digital breast tomosynthesis that resulted in radiation doses being reduced by more than half. Prior to his tenure at Hologic, Dr. Kreeger was Vice President of Advanced Development at R2 Technology, Inc., where he led a team that developed the first FDA-approved CT-based lung nodule and pulmonary embolism detection systems. Dr. Kreeger's Ph.D. thesis resulted in the creation of Viatronix Inc., where, as Director of Research and Development, he developed and helped commercialize the first FDA-cleared virtual colonoscopy application. He has been granted numerous patents in the visualization field, and has authored or co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles.

Dr. Kreeger commented, "I have been impressed with Fovia's volume rendering technology for many years. Having closely tracked the competitive landscape for the past three decades, I am excited to become part of such an industry-leading company that continues to innovate in the advanced visualization market. I look forward to expanding the markets and industry applications for Fovia's F.A.S.T.HDVR® technology."

Ken Fineman, Chief Executive Officer of Fovia stated, "The increasing demand for Fovia's High Definition Volume Rendering® solution has created the need to scale our technology and development efforts. Dr. Kreeger's portfolio includes a rare combination of deep technical expertise, demonstrated 360-degree innovation, and successful new product development. I am confident that Dr. Kreeger's unique skill set will strengthen Fovia's already prominent position in the volume rendering market. I am proud that Fovia continues to attract top talent in the field of advanced visualization, and I am pleased that someone of Dr. Kreeger's stature recognizes the opportunity to accelerate our expansion."
