Kewill Enhances Customs Software With ACE Functionality

Version 2.3 of Kewill Customs Delivers Comprehensive ACE Compliance and Increases Productivity

CHELMSFORD, MA--(Marketwired - October 17, 2013) - Kewill, a global leader in multimodal transportation management systems, today announced the general availability of Kewill Customs 2.3, the latest release of its next generation customs brokerage solution. In advance of mandatory deadlines, Kewill becomes first to market with comprehensive ACE functionality as the first vendor to provide software for the successful filing of an ACE entry and an active participant in CBP ACE pilot initiatives. Kewill Customs 2.3 is a component of the "comply" module of the recently-launched Kewill MOVE™ platform for multimodal transportation and logistics management, which enables customers to gain a holistic view of the logistics network with end-to-end visibility across the most critical supply chain execution processes.

Kewill Customs 2.3 enables customs brokers and freight forwarders to actively manage customs and trade compliance, keeping informed of changing trade regulations around the world while providing connections to a multitude of different local customs applications. The latest release of Kewill Customs offers a straightforward route to ACE compliance by enabling fully electronic filing of regulatory documents and data, while offering customers simple, easy-to-use tools that help them realize productivity, including faster release of cargo and reduced processing costs. A streamlined implementation process enables the seamless migration of users and importers to ACE, while a dashboard and monitoring application delivers efficient methods of managing shipments and new ACE messages.

"Kewill Customs eases the path to ACE by providing both the functionality required for compliance and a simple implementation process that minimizes disruption to users," said Celeste Catano, Domain Expert for U.S. Customs at Kewill. "We urge brokers and importers to put plans in place now to ensure they are on track to implement the necessary changes in advance of obligatory deadlines to avoid potentially damaging and costly repercussions."

With a deadline for cargo release scheduled for November 1, 2015 and all additional functionality slated for October 2016, Kewill Customs 2.3 provides users with an opportunity to strategize and take action now, putting them ahead of the market. Kewill Customs 2.3 users will benefit from:

  • ACE simplified entry support; added status screens make it easy to track what happens with an entry and advanced tools are provided to monitor the process with CBP.
  • Simple data upload of commercial invoice and parts catalogs from Microsoft® Excel®, avoiding re-keying of data or need for EDI. One time easy mapping facility can be used over and over again.
  • Templated entries enable users to build templates from files or existing templates and then default the data to new "same type" shipments.
  • Advanced monitoring of new and additional ACE requirements; users can adjust Microsoft Excel uploads already in place to accommodate requirements such as additional line parties and Partner Government Agency (PGA) data.

"The release of Kewill Customs 2.3 enhances Kewill's commitment to providing the most advanced customs clearance software available," comments Jay Waldron, SVP Americas at Kewill. "Our customers gain a significant competitive advantage leveraging Kewill Customs' unique combination of regulatory compliance and powerful productivity features to deliver exceptional customer service."
