Khan Resources Announces the Appointment of a New Chief Financial Officer 'CFO'

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 18, 2006) - Khan Resources Inc. (TSX:KRI) is pleased to announce the promotion of Paul D. Caldwell to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Corporate Secretary of the Company effective immediately. Mr. Caldwell joined KRI as Controller in August 2006, and he replaces David R. Lewis who in July, 2006 announced his intention to leave the Company on December 15, 2006, in order to pursue other opportunities.

Mr. Caldwell has more than 28 years of financial experience and has held senior positions with Canadian gold mining companies operating in Argentina, Canada, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the United States. He has been involved with a number of capital market transactions including mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Caldwell was formerly Controller of Glencairn Gold Corporation (Glencairn) from October 2003 until August 2006. Prior to October 2003 he was Controller, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Financial Officer of Black Hawk Mining until the Company merged with Glencairn. Mr. Caldwell is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a B.A. in Commerce and Economics.
