Kick Off October, National Breast Cancer Awarness Month, With Lunafest™ Thursday, October 6th at Clay Theatre

Organized by Bay Area Team LUNA Chix, Evening Benefits the Breast Cancer Fund

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 27, 2005 --


What: LUNAFEST, the national touring festival of films by, for, and about women, is sponsored by LUNA®, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women™. LUNAFEST provides a national platform for emerging women filmmakers. This year's films cover such topics as senior sex; mother/daughter dynamics; a humorous look at menopause; the problems of a single mother facing military deployment to Iraq; the quest for perfection, and the dilemma of a young mother facing pressure from her Old World relatives to circumcise her daughter. The festival features a variety of genres, including documentaries and animated shorts. Starting with just eight stops on its inaugural 2001 tour, LUNAFEST is expected to top 100 markets during its 5th Anniversary season.

Who: Mountain biker Marla Streb (left), USA 2004 NATIONAL DOWNHILL AND SUPER D CHAMPION and one of the most celebrated of the LUNA Chix pro athletes, will emcee the event. Organized by Bay Area Team LUNA Chix. Luna Chix and their professional teams ride, run, and race together for fun and a good cause.
