WAYNE, NJ--(Marketwire - October 14, 2010) -  Kid Brands, Inc. (NYSE: KID) today announced the introduction of a wide array of compelling, innovative and award-winning new products at the 2010 ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas, the largest domestic trade show for the infant and juvenile industry. Inspired by the needs of today's parents, each of Kid Brands' businesses unveiled extensive new product lines for 2011.

Bruce G. Crain, Chief Executive Officer and President, commented, "Our new product introductions at the 2010 ABC Kids Expo, as well as our participation in the recent 2010 Kind + Jugend international trade show in Cologne, Germany, demonstrate our continued ability to lead the infant and juvenile industry in design-led, stylish and functional products under both our own proprietary brands and several iconic licensed brands. In addition to many compelling new products in our core categories, we continue to respond to and address the needs of today's parents by expanding into several innovative product categories, increasing the age range of our addressable market with several new toddler offerings and diversifying our distribution channels, all of which we believe will help drive continued growth. We are also delighted that JPMA honored Sassy by presenting it with a 2010 Innovation Award. This achievement is a testament to the reemergence of Sassy as an industry leader, and to the commitment of each of our product development and design teams to growth through branded innovation, fashion and usefulness."

Among its many new product introductions, Kid Brands highlighted the following:

Kids Line®

In addition to a new logo and Grow Together™ brand identity that will be used across all Kids Line-branded offerings, Kids Line unveiled several new product categories, including: a full line of proprietary Baby Chef™ kitchen appliances; licensed MasterChef Junior™ cooking products for aspiring young foodies, based on the popular Fox Television show; and a new line of Kids Line-branded fashionable, mid-market diaper bags, including a line of bags for dads. In addition, Kids Line significantly enhanced its core Kids Line-branded bedding and accessory collections, which includes new baby nursery lighting, humidifiers and air purifiers, and also introduced expanded Disney® and Carter's® licensed bedding collections.

LaJobi launched an exclusive line of infant furniture collections under a new exclusive licensed brand, kathy ireland Baby®, which is designed to grow with baby and is intended to facilitate LaJobi's growth into the adult retail furniture channel. LaJobi also unveiled a glider chair with a patent-pending "nursing step" ottoman, expanded new offerings of LaJobi's own Bonavita® and Europa Baby® lines of infant furniture, as well as new collections of licensed furniture and mattresses under the Graco® and Serta® brands.

Sassy was awarded one of only 10 prestigious Innovation Awards from the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) at the 2010 ABC Kids Expo for its new, patent-pending Stay-Clean™ Silly Squirts™, which offer all the fun of traditional squirting toys, but with an added benefit: they snap apart to allow dishwasher-safe cleaning to prevent the growth of mold. Sassy also unveiled a complete array of innovative new developmental toys designed to address the Millennial Mom's fashion sensibility and desire to make life easier, including a new rock-and-roll themed play mat that sets up in seconds, and a new family of spoons and forks with built in, BPA-free, temperature sensing materials that change color when food is too hot for baby.

In addition to many new fashion-driven nursery collections and expansion of existing collections under its own CoCaLo Baby® and CoCaLo Couture® brands, CoCaLo launched several new product categories, including: a line of Spa products designed to bring style and to meet parents' needs at bath time, including soft hooded towels and wraps, infant bath robes and adult bath aprons; and a new line of fashionable and functional CoCaLo Couture diaper bags. CoCaLo also continued its expansion into juvenile bedding and décor with several new collections under its CoCaLo Kids™ brand.
