The Calgary Food Bank's clientele is 43% children, and the Kids in Motion participants come to understand that they are helping kids just like themselves. Children in this free program for kids age 9 to 12 years volunteer in meaningful projects. They are involved in building communities through a food drive and learn why the food bank is an important part of the Calgary community.

Donations tend to be lower during the summer months. Groups like the YMCA Kids in Motion help the Food Bank to bring in donations as well as raise awareness in the community.
