Kids Konnected Holiday Party Gets Fizzy With New Fizz Cup Ice Cream Soda Floats for Families Dealing With Cancer Issues

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - December 15, 2008) - It's a new twist on an old favorite -- an ice cream soda float made using the new Fizz Cup by Jonzo, Inc. ( -- and it was a fun and tasty crowd pleaser at the annual Kids Konnected Holiday Party on Dec. 11 in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Kids Konnected held a holiday party for special guests -- children whose fathers or mothers have been diagnosed with cancer or died of cancer. "A cancer diagnosis affects the entire family, and the emotional issues children experience are many times overlooked," according to executive director Dave Peters. Kids Konnected, a nonprofit organization now in its 15th year in Orange County, provides a variety of counseling programs and summer camps for kids and teens. Approximately 150 children, parents, staff and volunteers enjoyed this year's event.

To get into the holiday spirit, Fizz Cup inventor David Chodosh, founder of Jonzo, Inc., decided to contribute to a local charity and found Kids Konnected's event to be the perfect celebration to bring ice cream soda floats into the mix -- something new and different, yet a familiar treat that almost every child loves.

"I created the Fizz Cup as a fun, new experience for kids, and really for ice cream soda lovers of all ages," explains Chodosh. "The holidays are the perfect time to get involved in the community, and I heard about the wonderful work being done by Kids Konnected. It seemed like a great opportunity to bring a little extra joy to the party -- and I love seeing kids enjoying my new product."

Chodosh lined up help from Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream to provide the vanilla ice cream to go with the Fizz Cups and the sodas (root beer, orange and cola) and joined the celebration in person. He even earned the nickname "Mr. Fizz" from many of the excited kids at the party.

The event included gifts for the children from Santa Claus, a drawing for a decorated Christmas tree and other festive prizes, holiday-themed arts and crafts, face painting, a balloon artist, dinner featuring In-N-Out Burger and, for dessert, the Fizz Cup ice cream soda floats.

So, what's all the fizz about? Chodosh has created a "mixing chamber" that separates the ingredients -- the soda and ice cream mix at just the right time, in just the right amount. It's easy: the Fizz Cup is filled with scoops of ice cream, covered and then twisted onto the top of a soda bottle. When the plastic bottle is gently squeezed, the soda squirts into the ice cream cup, creating a fun, fizzy explosion inside the cup. A straw can be used if desired. A demonstration can be seen at

"Our kids loved it -- and the moms and dads too," said Peters. "I hadn't seen it before, but it was a big highlight. Our families go through a lot of stress through the year -- our holiday party is something everyone looks forward to and we are grateful to David for the Fizz Cup addition, as well as our other generous donors."

Chodosh has more than 18 years of design experience in toys and housewares, and has created new products for Hallmark, Mattel Toys, Hasbro and Burger King, among others. His designs have been distributed at mass-market stores and quick-service restaurants throughout North America, Europe and Japan. Chodosh's Fizz Cup is now available through online sales at his website, and will soon be available through various retail outlets. In addition, licensing opportunities with athletic teams, amusement parks, and stadiums are under consideration.
