Kim Flowers Talent Development Academy™ and Wal-Mart® to Sponsor "Operation Lasting Peace Back-to-School Fashion Show"

9th Annual Community Back-to-School Health & Educational Fair

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - August 10, 2007) - Kim Flowers Talent Development Academy™, in conjunction with Wal-Mart®, will be introducing a new addition to the 9th Annual Community Back-To-School Health & Educational Fair by sponsoring a youth fashion show showcasing fashions donated by Wal-Mart®. The event is Saturday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the fashion show featured at 11:30 a.m. in the Horn Theatre at the College of Southern Nevada Cheyenne Campus.

The 9th Annual Back-to-School Health & Educational Fair has grown exponentially and this year will include the first "Operation Lasting Peace Back-to-School Fashion Show." Youth participants will perform various acts of entertainment as well as showcase clothing provided by Wal-Mart®. The participants will also share with the audience statistics and prevention information given by participating vendors such as: Operation Lasting Peace - anti-violence messages; UMC Trauma Unit - seatbelt, pedestrian safety messages; and Nevada Child Seeker & Good Nights - anti-abduction messages. Wal-Mart® will be donating the clothing from the fashion show to underprivileged children.

Kim Flowers Talent Development Academy™ will donate approximately 40 hours of staff coordination from her professional instructors to include training, auditions, fittings, rehearsals and the use of her facilities. This experience provides the students a chance to give back to the community, setting an example for them to do so in the future. The Nevada Youth Alliance along with its many partners and sponsors are providing the following free activities and materials: face painting, dental check-ups, immunizations, a gang prevention handbook entitled "Gangs Training," fingerprinting, back packs and school supplies, refreshments, additional educational & motivational activities, various mascots, local celebrities and a youth/entertainment showcase.

There will be nearly 50 vendors on hand distributing much needed information to educate the many families in the community. Returning again this year will be local government leaders and celebrities.
