Kim Lighting Shows Latest Outdoor Architectural Lighting at 2008 American Institute of Architects National Convention and Design Exposition

Manufacturer Continues Integration of LED Technology Into Outdoor Architectural Lighting Products

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - May 15, 2008) - Kim Lighting, a leading manufacturer of outdoor architectural lighting, brought its latest product lines to the 2008 American Institute of Architects National Convention and Design Exposition, held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center May 15-17.

At the show, Kim Lighting showcased its extensive line of outdoor lighting to the approximately 25,000 architects and building industry professionals who gathered in Boston to see the latest products, technologies and innovations impacting the architecture and building industries.

Warp9

Kim Lighting's Warp9 series features the exclusive Visual Stealth Technology™ and is designed to disappear from the site and camouflage itself with its surroundings and avoid detection from daytime visual perception. Typical site lighting attempts to embellish, decorate or adorn, often beyond the original architectural intent. Warp9 was conceived and developed with an entirely different directive, and is the antithesis of massive, showy and recognizable, which allows architecture to remain visually dominant as it was originally intended.

The Warp9 series offers a complete package of luminaire sizes and options that integrate seamlessly into any environment. The series includes two housing sizes, in electronic or magnetic ballasted versions, with four distinct light distributions and a wide array of mounting, fixture and finish options.

GEM LED

Kim Lighting's GEM® Performance Bollard line includes new super bright white LED technology designed to produce high levels of illuminance and an attractive lens presence. The visible lens produces a point of interest, attracts attention and is particularly well suited where bollards are used to identify and highlight entries or important walkways.

The GEM Performance Bollard is available with either a concrete or aluminum shaft and has a durable powder coat finish. The GEM head is constructed of die-cast aluminum, with a molded glass refractor. Four captive, stainless steel fasteners are concealed from view, yet provide easy access for routine maintenance. The lens is not disturbed during re-lamping. The fixture head is secured to the shaft with heavy-duty stainless steel rods.

Key features of the line include: super bright white LED versions in 30W, 45W or 60W modules for three distinct distributions; placement of LEDs high in the optical system to reduce refractor brightness while increasing luminaire efficiency in the desired luminous zone at 60° from vertical; precision molded tempered glass refractor to spread light evenly in the beam pattern and eliminate shadows from the luminaire's support structure; stepped design of the lower body to reduce surface brightness and provide an attractive texture; sealed optical system to eliminate the intrusion of dirt and insects; and a lens refractor to spread illuminance laterally and produce a smooth and even beam pattern.

LED Landscape Series

Kim Lighting is leading the industry in the development of LED products that use the latest technologies and determining standards for the capabilities of LED for general outdoor illumination. To maintain the quality and integrity of its products, Kim Lighting only uses LED lighting for low level (ten-foot and under) applications, having determined that anything higher would compromise performance.

The recently expanded LED Landscape Collection includes a greater variety of low-level lighting that enables architects and building professionals to better utilize white light LED technologies. New additions to the LED landscape Collection include: LED Gem Bollard Series (see above), LED Bounce Bollard Series (30W, 45W or 60W in five finishes on a concrete or aluminum riser; high-tech style with true area-lighting performance) and the LED MiniBounce Series (30W, 45W or 60W in five finishes; complements the Bounce Series; specifically made for wall or pole mounts up to ten-feet high).

Axial Flood Luminaire Series
