DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES--(Marketwire - April 18, 2008) - King & Spalding, a leading
international law firm, advised Singapore's Energy Market Authority (EMA)
on a landmark agreement signed today appointing BG Asia Pacific Pte Limited
("BG") as the liquefied natural gas ("LNG") Aggregator for Singapore.
The EMA and BG entered into an agreement detailing BG's responsibilities in
the role of the Aggregator. The role of the Aggregator is to aggregate
demand for regasified LNG from all end-users of natural gas in Singapore
and to procure LNG supply for these end-users. BG will have an exclusive
license to import LNG via a new terminal in Singapore and sell up to 3
million tons per year of regasified LNG. Singapore's new LNG terminal is
expected to become operational at a site on Jurong Island by 2012. The
EMA began the Aggregator selection process in September 2007 and today
chose BG from among several other companies it had been considering.
King & Spalding has been working with the EMA on the project since August
2007, including both the Aggregator and terminal aspects. Partner Philip
Weems and senior associate Farida Midani, both based in Dubai, serve as
advisors to the EMA.
King & Spalding is a leader in the global LNG industry and has been
recognized by Chambers Global as "probably the premier firm for broad-based
LNG support." As one of the most active law firms in the LNG business,
King & Spalding assists clients in all aspects of the LNG chain. The
firm's lawyers have advised in recent years on onshore and offshore import

the Bahamas, and the United States. Moreover, the firm's lawyers have
advised in connection with LNG export projects in Indonesia, Papua New
Guinea, Qatar, Australia, Angola, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, and Yemen.
The firm acted as lead counsel in the development of all three of the new
U.S. LNG terminals set to open in April / May 2008.
