King & Spalding Establishes A Diversity Fellowship Program for Second-Year Law Students

ATLANTA, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 12, 2006 -- King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, announced today that it has established a national diversity fellowship program for law students as part of its ongoing effort to increase ethnic and cultural diversity in the firm and the legal profession.

The King & Spalding Diversity Fellowship Program, to be inaugurated nationally in the fall of 2006, will award fellowships to up to four qualified second-year students who show promise of contributing meaningfully to the diversity of the legal community. Each recipient will receive a $10,000 stipend and a summer associate clerkship at one of King & Spalding's four offices in the United States the summer following the completion of his or her second year of law school. The program is available to students with an ethnically or culturally diverse background.

"The new fellowship program furthers our commitment to recruit, retain and advance talented lawyers who will contribute to the advancement of diversity within the firm and in the legal profession."

Eligibility to apply for a King & Spalding Diversity Fellowship is open to any law student in good standing who is pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, who has completed the first year of legal studies and who increases the ethnic and cultural diversity of the practice of law.
