King & Spalding Represents Metal Management, Inc. on Proposed Merger With Sims Group Limited

Transaction Creates the World's Largest Publicly Traded Recycling Company


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - September 24, 2007) - King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, is advising Metal Management, Inc. on its proposed merger with Sims Group Limited. The transaction will bring together one of the leading full service metal recyclers in the United States with one of the world's largest recycling companies.

The transaction is expected to close first quarter 2008 pending regulatory and shareholder approval.

The Metal Management and Sims Group Limited will join to form Sims Metal Management, the world's largest publicly traded recycler. Collectively, the two process and trade in excess of 15 million tons of metal annually at more than 200 locations worldwide.
