KINGSTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 6, 2014) - On 17 January 2014, Tina Stewart of Kingston, Ontario, pleaded guilty to permitting animals to be in distress.
On 22 November 2012, Ontario SPCA Officers arrived at Ms. Stewart's residence in response to a complaint of animals living in unsanitary conditions. Compliance orders written under the authority of the Ontario SPCA act were issued.
On 3 December 2012, Ontario SPCA Officers returned to the residence, the animals were removed from the home, due to non-compliance of the orders written.
Stewart received a sentence, prohibiting her from owning more than two dogs and two cats for a period of two years. Ontario SPCA Officers received inspection rights to verify compliance at Ms. Stewart's residence. Ms. Stewart was also fined $500.
