Kinross Gold Drills Golconda's South Monitor Prospect in Nevada

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 6, 2008) - Golconda Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:GA) is pleased to announce that Kinross Gold USA Inc., a subsidiary of Kinross Gold Corp., has started a large reverse-circulation drill program on the South Monitor property in Nevada.

The program foresees the drilling of up to 24 holes. Some holes will be drilled to a depth of 500 to 700ft in areas where former drill holes showed gold values increasing at depth.

The drill rig will then be moved to the Monitor Flat property where 8 holes are planned on anomalies found by a magnetic survey carried out by Kinross.

Kinross Gold can earn a 60% interest in both properties by spending 4 million USD in exploration.
