Kira Talent Announces University of Moncton as the Winner of Its Annual 'Best Higher Ed Recruitment Video Award'

The Winning Campaign Beat Out Hundreds of Other Videos Based on Its Recruitment Effectiveness, Emotional Appeal, and Entertainment Value

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Mar 1, 2016) -  Kira Talent, creators of the first video admissions platform for higher education, Kira Academic, today announces the University of Moncton (Université de Moncton) as the winner of its first annual Best Higher Ed Recruitment Video Award. The experts at Kira reviewed recruitment videos from hundreds of schools across the world, and selected the top four based on recruitment effectiveness, emotional appeal and entertainment value. The top videos were featured on the Kira Academic blog which called on readers to vote for the most compelling video. After accumulating a majority of the popular vote, The University of Moncton was declared the winner in a final decision by the Kira team.

With all the buzz around Oscar season, the Kira team decided to give a cheeky nod to the Academy Awards and suggest that recruitment videos from schools should receive recognition for their cinematic achievements as well. The top contenders employed a range of marketing tactics from inspirational stories, to fun contests, to Moncton's risqué campaign which created a frenzy of media coverage and a 22 percent increase in applications from Canadian students.
