Kirkland Chiropractic and Wellness Center Welcomes New Acupuncturist

KIRKLAND, WA--(Marketwire - Aug 9, 2011) - Health Quest Chiropractic and Wellness Center in Kirkland, WA has announced the addition of an acupuncturist to their office staff. The facility, found online at, treats patients suffering from conditions such as back pain, headache, sciatica, and a variety of personal injuries. The facility also treats pregnancy pain and chronic pain conditions like arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. Acupuncture will be used as both a stand-alone treatment and as a complement to the Kirkland chiropractic care and massage therapy, depending upon the specific nature of the injury and the individual patient.

The website has been newly redesigned to give information about the acupuncturist, the care she provides, and other healing methods used at the offices.

Dr. Lori Jin received her MD degree in China (both Western and Eastern medical training), and her Ph.D. (Pharmacology) from the University of Minnesota. She practiced acupuncture in China for 5 years before she came to the U.S., and has been practicing acupuncture in Washington State for over 10 years. Dr. Jin is a former research consultant of the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and also worked as a research scientist at the University of Washington. Her main research interest is in the study of the mechanism of pain and drug abuse, and she also received a National Research Service Award from NIH for her excellence in medical research. Dr. Jin has always been passionate about acupuncture and Eastern medicine. She uses acupuncture to treat a wide range of health problems, and maintains a special interest in the management of pain.

Dr. Jin's practice in Eastern medicine also benefits from chiropractic care, which is provided by Dr. William Marson. The Kirkland chiropractor, Dr. Marson has served in his field for more than 16 years and feels strongly that his brand of gentle non-invasive manipulations will be an excellent complement to the additional new care being provided at the clinic. When asked about the new addition to the staff of the Center, Dr. William Marson said, "We are very excited to welcome Dr. Jin to our practice. We have seen the benefits of acupuncture firsthand and are pleased that we can now offer Dr. Jin's services to help our patients live well and be pain free."

Acupuncture is used during all three phases of injury treatment, and the benefits of this type of care typically increase as the treatment progresses. The three phases of care include the relief care phase (immediately after the accident or injury starts), the corrective care phase (the period during which the injury is corrected with acupuncture techniques), and the wellness care phase (during which regular wellness care is given to insure that the injury does not resurface in the future).

The Health Quest website details how each injury is diagnosed and treated. Injuries commonly seen at the Kirkland office include whiplash, work injury, pain in the upper or lower back, sciatica, neck pain, and headaches. Regardless of the pain condition, Dr. Jin and the Health Quest staff say that their care can reduce or eliminate pain and suffering in patients. More information about Dr. Jin, Dr. Marson, and the chiropractic center is available on their website at
