KIT digital to Deliver High-Definition IP Video for Next Generation of Tablet Devices

KIT digital to Lead Industry in Seamless Mobile Device Streaming While Moving Between Broadband, Mobile and Wi-Fi Networks

NEW YORK, NY and PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC--(Marketwire - January 19, 2010) - KIT digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: KITD), a leading global provider of on-demand software solutions for managing and monetizing Internet Protocol (IP) based video assets, is developing and adapting its forthcoming next generation "VX-one" IP video management platform to include the optimized delivery of IP video to tablet computers.

The move comes as KIT digital has seen the types of devices which its clients' end-users are watching video on increase 95 percent, from 190 in 2008 to 370 in 2010.

"This rapid increase in the number of video-enabled devices that users are accessing on a daily basis tells a clear story to us about the exploding demand for mobility among online video viewers," said Barak Bar-Cohen, EVP of global business development for KIT digital. "People want content when, where and on whatever device they choose. Our proven ability to deliver high-definition encoding, as well as complete content management, positions KIT digital to be the ideal partner for video delivery on these and other next-generation mobile devices."

The new Network Services module of the upcoming release of "VX-one" will offer the ability to deliver the highest quality live content and Video on Demand (VOD) content to devices with a smaller footprint.

According to Andy Steward, KIT digital's chief technology officer: "Our Network Services module will be able to connect mobile devices to tablets that may not have a mobile capability. This will bridge the gap to allow for video delivery on the move, when users may be unable to connect to Wi-Fi. Or as a tablet moves from a higher speed wireless connection to mobile carrier connections, the content delivery automatically adjusts to ensure constant delivery without buffering, whether on a small mobile screen or a larger screen, such as a tablet."

Using KIT digital's content management and content publishing solutions via "VX-one," network operators, content owners and content distributors will be able to ensure that future users of tablet devices will benefit from the company's ability to deliver high quality content to any device, anywhere.

KIT digital's new platform, "VX-one" (originally referred to under the working title "VX2"), is built upon the success of "KIT VX," the industry's first truly end-to-end platform for ingesting, managing and publishing IP-video to the three screens (computer browser, mobile handset, and IPTV-enabled television set). The new platform will be progressively rolled out to new and existing clients during the second quarter of 2010 and the company intends to fully deploy "VX-one" across its global client set by the third quarter of 2010.

"VX-one" will feature several upgrades to the current "KIT VX" platform and brand new elements including: modern enterprise architecture, enhanced content management, an augmented playback experience relating to advertising and interactive user engagement tools as well as a recommendation engine and advanced reporting capabilities.
