KJM Real Estate & BHGLAAR Donated Gifts to Battered Women & Children on Valentine's Day

KJ Marmon, Founder of Local Real Estate Brokerage, Asked to Donate Gifts Directly to Shelter

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 5, 2007 -- KJM Real Estate, in conjunction with the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors (BHGLAAR), donated gifts, toys and candy to seven shelters that provide services for women and children affected by domestic violence, this past Valentine's Day. The agents at KJM requested assistance in gathering items from the tenants in their office building, which is the largest one in Beverly Hills, and the donations quickly came in. "Due to the amount of gifts that we collected, I was asked to present them to the women and children personally, which was really special. It was one thing to collect the items, but to be able to give everything directly to those who are most needy, was truly inspiring," said KJ Marmon, founder of KJM Real Estate. Summer Parker of KJM had her mother's sewing group needlepoint scarves for the women at the shelter also.

The Beverly Hills Greater Los Angles Association of Realtors, along with KJM, has a reputation for their charitable works. During Christmas they collected suitcases for children in foster care so that they would not have to travel from home to home with their possessions in plastic bags. Conducting business with a conscience is part of what KJM Real Estate has been doing since Marmon founded the company in 2005. KJM is one of the first green real estate agencies in the US. Almost all of the agents in the firm are certified EcoBrokers® who have been trained to help their buyers and sellers with various environmental issues including energy efficiency technologies, sustainable energy options, and green mortgage options.

"We're living in an interesting time, when our choices really can shape the future," said Marmon. "If more people are conscious about their actions, whether that is how they donate their money, their time, or how they take care of the environment, it affects all of us," said Marmon. "We are proud to be of service to the community, whether it is with charitable donations, or through educating consumers on greening homes, we are here to help."
