Europe's fastest growing automotive aftermarket business the Klarius Group has stepped-in to support several EU car plants in order to maintain continuity of supply after the devastating events in Japan.

Having invested heavily in European manufacturing plants over the last three years, the Klarius Group has found itself in a unique position of being able to find additional manufacturing capacity at very short notice in order to satisfy demands for over 100,000 parts per month to keep EU car plants in production.

Lean manufacturing techniques and a focus on OE quality are proving successful with the aftermarket and OE manufacturers. The production cycle has been reduced in terms of time which means the business can adapt quickly to customer demand in either the aftermarket or from OE manufacturers which is further testament to the quality of the products.

Klarius Chairman Tony Wilson comments,

"While the events in Japan are terrible and our hearts go out to those struggling to rebuild and cope with the situation, we have been able to provide support for manufacturing sites in other parts of the world who are looking to ensure continuity of supply. Items such as water pumps and shock absorbers that we already supply in large numbers to leading car and light vehicle manufacturers have been the first items in demand, with others under urgent consideration."

"Our push to develop lean manufacturing techniques, including short-run parts production and flexible tooling has allowed us to adapt our production schedules very quickly to accommodate a huge range of components, while maintaining high production volumes from all our factories".

The impact of manufacturing supply issues from Japan is still yet to be understood in any great detail, but at least production will continue uninterrupted in several of the major EU car plants, ensuring any negative effects on the industry as a whole are limited.
