KnowledgeLake Launches on Microsoft SharePoint 2010

KnowledgeLake Embraces SharePoint 2010 by Leveraging It for Its Public Website

ST. LOUIS, MO--(Marketwire - June 10, 2010) - KnowledgeLake, Inc., a leading provider of document imaging and capture technologies for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Content Management solutions, today announced it is leveraging SharePoint 2010 as the platform for building its company's public website.

KnowledgeLake was a first mover on the SharePoint platform in 2003. KnowledgeLake is unique among ECM vendors in that it focuses exclusively on SharePoint as the repository for its document imaging, capture and workflow solutions.

"Today we are proud to announce that we are again a first mover with Microsoft in that we are launching on the SharePoint 2010 platform," stated Ron Cameron, President and co-founder of KnowledgeLake, Inc. "As the SharePoint ECM market leader, we found it important that we use our own technology. We believe in the Microsoft solutions that we promote to our customers, so we are not going to use competitive technologies for things like our website, mobile phones, or search. The added bonus for us is that Microsoft products are the most widely used and highest quality in the world. Our total cost of ownership for the new website will be very low."

KnowledgeLake has taken advantage of the web content management capabilities in SharePoint to improve the authoring and publishing process of its website. This functionality will allow KnowledgeLake to save money by reducing the number of resources required to administer KnowledgeLake also uses SharePoint as a collaboration tool for internal operations such as software development, human resources and accounting.

"I've used numerous content management systems prior to my experience with SharePoint 2010 and can say that the templating, publishing and web parts functionalities in SharePoint really set it apart from the rest," stated DJ Monzyk, Graphic/Web Designer, KnowledgeLake, Inc. "I am used to spending time finding, researching, installing, troubleshooting and maintaining multiple 'modules' to support all of the things in my previous CMSs that SharePoint can do out of the box. Despite being a first-time implementer/developer of SharePoint as a customer-facing CMS solution, and having little asp and xsl/xslt history, I was able to pick up everything quickly to develop a beautiful and powerful customer-facing publishing website safely supporting multiple content authors."

"KnowledgeLake has truly embraced the SharePoint ECM platform," said Tricia Bush, Director for SharePoint Product Management at Microsoft Corp. "Traditionally, KnowledgeLake has developed innovative products that expand the enterprise content management features already in SharePoint 2010. So with SharePoint 2010, KnowledgeLake has taken that to the next level to develop its website."
