KnowledgeLake Leverages FAST to Provide Powerful Searches in the Latest Release of Imaging for SharePoint Software

ST. LOUIS, MO--(Marketwire - December 23, 2010) -  KnowledgeLake, Inc., a leading provider of document imaging and capture technologies for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Content Management solutions, today announced a new version of KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint.

KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint is a platform-based solution for managing unstructured content directly from SharePoint. The latest version of Imaging for SharePoint will enable organizations to perform searches that are more powerful by leveraging the Microsoft FAST Search Server, and utilize a web browser content viewer that can be placed on any SharePoint web page.

"Our team at KnowledgeLake is excited about the 4.1 release of our core server product, especially support for FAST Search Servers," said Chris Caplinger, Chief Technology Officer of KnowledgeLake, Inc. "FAST delivers an exceptional search experience using a platform for building custom search-driven applications. We believe we can deliver the best ECM searching experience available today by combining FAST with KnowledgeLake's unique ability to deliver exact relevance search results, as well as the integration of the KnowledgeLake viewer into the FAST search results."

KnowledgeLake seamlessly integrates with SharePoint to bring people, processes and content together. The KnowledgeLake Search Center takes full advantage of native SharePoint Search, Search Server Express and FAST Search servers and supplies the end user with pin-point accurate keyword and property search results from across the SharePoint farm on a single page; thus eliminating the traditional information silos and cumbersome paper-based processes.

This release also includes a new viewer web part that will provide comprehensive "imaging" functionality for SharePoint implementations. The KnowledgeLake viewer is now exposed as a web part to use with any SharePoint web page. This web part viewer has all the same functionality as the standard KnowledgeLake Viewer such as annotations, DocEncrypt™, and viewing multiple documents in a side-by-side or tabbed configuration.

KnowledgeLake is committed to the Microsoft SharePoint platform and starting in 2004 was one of the first vendors to build SharePoint specific ECM solutions. KnowledgeLake has continued to expand the capabilities of KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint with the SharePoint 2010 release. KnowledgeLake was also named Microsoft Partner of the Year in two categories this year including the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) category.

KnowledgeLake, Inc. develops document imaging related products and solutions for Microsoft SharePoint. KnowledgeLake extends the ECM capabilities of SharePoint, enabling businesses to reduce mailing costs, streamline operations, and achieve regulatory compliance using familiar Microsoft products that most businesses already own and use. KnowledgeLake products and solutions are deployed globally in thousands of organizations in many different horizontal and vertical industry sectors including public sector, healthcare, financial services, transportation and more. For more information, visit
